Play Station 2 emulator for Android.

Is it possible to develop Play Station 2 emulator for Android?. We have seen a lot of PSX emulator on PC platform. Can android hardware run good and smooth performance? Its will take a alot of times before the  PS2 emulator for android matured. Porting PS2 to smartphone is slow.  Android smartphone device need more powerful hardware because console are dedicated hardware and emulation on handphone is tough thing to do. It is time consuming and the quality won’t be as good on real dedicated console. There is PSX4droid on Android market that claims it can run PSX games.
