There is plenty of multimedia API in the Android development kits. You can use any class or method that suit your project and apps development. Android is based on linux, the multimedia API is documented in the Google Android SDK website.

You can use VideoView class to play the video on Android devices, set the setVideoURI string, put the MP4 video in /res/raw folder and finally use start() method to play the video. Here is the code snippet to play the video on Android.

I always follow this step to upgrade legacy android apps.

 

You should update to the latest Google Play service and it is better choice compare to standalone admob SDK. We are going to teach you how to update your old android code to the latest Google Play services.

 

Step 1:

Open your old Admob Project. Delete the GoogleAdMobAdsSDK.jar inside the libs folder. (Next : Just ignore the reference warning.)

Setup Google Play service.

1. Launch the SDK Manager in one of the following ways:

  • In Android Studio, click SDK Manager in the toolbar.

  • In Eclipse (with ADT), select Window > Android SDK Manager

Scroll to the bottom of the package list, expand Extras, select Google Play services, and install it. First step you need to download Odin.
Download the update file on the same computer – use the download link from here.


Also, on the PC the Galaxy W drivers must be installed – you can use Samsung KIES for getting the drivers.
Unzip the downloaded files (Odin and firmware).
Then, install and run Odin on your computer.
The unzipped software must be placed on desktop.
Now, turn off your phone.
Take it and press the power, volume down and home buttons.
In this way download mode must be entered.
So, with the handset booted in download mode, connect your Galaxy W with the computer via USB cable.
Then, take a look on Odin: the “added” message must be displayed while ID:COM section must be yellow or blue.
If not, unplug the USB cable, close Odin and reinstall the Galaxy W drivers on your computer; then repeat the steps from above.
Good, now from Odin select “PDA”.
Pick the Android 4.1.2 JB XXAMH2 Firmware file from desktop.
From Odin click on “start”.
Wait while the update is being applied.
In the end, the “pass” message will be displayed on Odin and the ID:COM section will turn green.
Disconnect the phone from the computer and reboot your device.

You must have USB debungging turn on in the developer setting.
